🚴♂️ Training & Events
What types of training sessions does ATM offer?
We host a mix of swim, bike, and run workouts—plus brick sessions, training days, and occasional clinics. Schedules vary by season and are published on our member site and private Facebook group.
Do I have to attend every training or event?
Not at all. Come when you can! Our workouts are flexible and meant to fit into busy schedules. We offer workouts on weekdays and weekends all year-round.
Are workouts coached or self-guided?
Most are led by experienced members, but we also bring in coaches for specialty sessions or clinics throughout the year.
How do I find out about upcoming workouts and races?
We post all workouts and events in our private Facebook group and member site. Once you join, you’ll get all the details. Members are also encouraged to post workouts on our Facebook group for others to join on an ad hoc basis.
What gear or equipment do I need to participate?
Just the basics for each sport—a bike, helmet, running shoes, and swim gear. Don’t worry if you’re still building your setup; we can help guide you, and in many cases, we have members willing to lend any equipment you need.
Are group rides or swims open to all levels?
Yes! We keep things inclusive and group everyone by pace or distance so no one gets left behind. We also are always in need of additional aid support and water safety, and we have a number of members that participate in the club in this way as well!
🏃 Racing & Team Support
Do I need to race to be part of the club?
Not at all. Some members join for the camaraderie and training community, even if they’re not racing.
Does ATM race together as a team?
Yes! You’ll often see ATM athletes racing side-by-side and cheering each other on at events throughout the season. Typical club races include local favorites like TBF Racing (which offers ATM members a discount!), Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz and Ironman California. The team also has a strong showing at races like Ironman 70.3 La Quinta, Ironman 70.3 Salem and more.
Are there team kits or uniforms?
There sure are. Members can order our team kit each season—it’s a fun way to show your ATM pride on race day. The ATM apparel shop also offers cycle jerseys, tri bags, t-shirts and much more.
How does the club support athletes training for Ironman or other big events?
We offer group long rides, open water swims, and training blocks geared toward major races. Plus, you’ll have a supportive crew who understands what it takes to get there. If you dread a solo workout, members often post their own workout plans on our private Facebook group for others to join. Training is more fun together!
💬 Community & Culture
What makes ATM different from other triathlon clubs?
Our energy and vibe! ATM is positive, welcoming, and fun—we’re serious about training, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. All our members are highly engaged, and we are proud to be the “life of the party” at events and races together. We believe that training is better together, and should be FUN!
Is the club social too, or mostly focused on training?
Definitely both. We train hard and play hard. You’ll find plenty of social events, post-race hangouts, and team parties throughout the year.
How can I get more involved as a volunteer or sponsor?
We love when members get involved! You can help lead workouts, support at races, or connect us with potential sponsors—just reach out to a board member.
💰 Sponsorships & Discounts
Do members get discounts from sponsors?
Yes! Members get access to exclusive discounts on gear, nutrition, and more from our amazing sponsors. With the numerous discounts we offer members, the annual membership fee often pays for itself and then some!
How does the club work with sponsors or partners?
We partner with local and national brands who share our passion for endurance sports. In return, we help showcase and support their businesses through our events and community.
Can my business become a sponsor?
