ironman 70.3 oregon
Don't let the slow pace of life in Oregon fool you; the Beaver state has some high-speed tricks up its sleeve. From the nearly vertical ski slopes of Mount Hood, to the wild and scenic rivers that criss-cross the state, there is no shortage of opportunities for fast-paced thrills in Oregon—and IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon is no exception. Boasting one of the fastest swims on the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit, this wildly popular race calls first-timers and PR-seekers alike to Salem, where they'll find a blazing-fast 1.2-mile swim in the Willamette River, a 56-mile ride through Oregon’s scenic wine country, and a flat 13.1-mile run on paved and shaded park trails!
So, what does fast mean to you? Find the answer in Oregon.
Head up on Thursday for Friday checkin and somme on the course shake-outs, as well as a group dinner Friday evening. Then take an extra day to relax Sunday after the race and head back down on Monday morning if you can.

ironman 70.3 Redding Recon!
Let’s get on the course for a training meetup!
Alan and I will be heading up to Redding the afternoon of Friday, June 26, staying at the Best Western on Larkspur Lane. We plan to run at least one lap of the run course late afternoon or evening on Friday, and possibly drive up to Whiskeytown to take a look at the swim location.
On Saturday, June 27, if possible we'll plan a swim at Whiskeytown Lake and ride the bike course.
For the swim, we may not be able to swim at Oak Bottom because of boat traffic, but could go out and take a look at the area if people are interested. Other options to swim are "the curtain" and Brandy Creek.
For the bike, we'll likely skip the Hwy 299 stretch for safety reasons, and do the bulk of the ride as a loop.
Will be great to meetup, check out the course, collaborate and train as a group.
Details are currently fluid and may change as we get closer. We can grab dinner or lunch if the group is up for it. Save the date. Join us one or both days if you can.
If you'd like to stay over and do more on Sunday, that is another option.
